Trance involves documentary footage of men and women I encountered whilst in the Netherlands. Deep in shamanic trance they lose themselves to the sounds of chants and drums. The original sound has been edited and replaced with modern rave music. The result is a confluence of two distinct recreational subcultures that reveal underlying similarities.
