Gestures of Anatomy , (original 14'00)

Gestures of Anatomy uses the setting of a launderette to explore cyclical systems and feedback loops—focusing more deeply on the individuals who make up the 'social fabric.' The work follows five characters, each engaging in different ways with the systems that shape and constrain them. A female sex worker speaks privately about her body, sweat, and desire; a man reflects on his need for breathable, clean materials while gradually transforming into an advertisement salesman; a homeless man expresses his disdain for others’ judgments as he reads about concepts of pollution and purity on his phone; while two girls casually discuss their synchronised menstrual cycles. Gestures of Anatomy reflects on hygiene and routine, thinking about how individuals are either included or excluded from a social environment.
