The work X-Y centres on a family of characters playing snooker. Influenced by the concept of social geometry and the musical genre Grime, the film uses the dynamics and rules of the game to explore relational forces and the unspoken rules of social interaction that shape human behaviour. Shot in a snooker hall in Birmingham, the short film features local actors and non-actors, including Grime artist Mayday.
